We are seeking a talentedSenior Civil Engineerto join a dynamic infrastructure team based in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced civil engineer with a proven background in UK-based consultancies to contribute to exciting infrastructure and drainage projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
About the RoleAs aSenior Civil Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of infrastructure and drainage projects, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams and clients. Your expertise will ensure technical excellence, timely delivery, and compliance with UK standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, development, and delivery of infrastructure and drainage projects for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
- Prepare detailed calculations, technical reports, and drainage strategies to support planning applications and project delivery.
- Oversee the design of surface water and foul drainage systems, SUDS, highways, and utilities.
- Mentor and manage junior engineers and technicians, ensuring team growth and development.
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multi-disciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure all projects comply with UK design standards, including DMRB, SuDS, and Water Authority specifications.
- Contribute to project budgets, timelines, and quality control while identifying opportunities for improvement.
What Youll Need- A minimum of3 years experience working in UK-based civil engineering consultancies.
- Strong background ininfrastructure and drainage design, including surface water and foul drainage systems.
- Proficiency in relevant software such asCivil 3D, MicroDrainage (WinDes), AutoCAD, and similar design tools.
- Knowledge of UK design standards and regulations, including SuDS, DMRB, and local water authority guidelines.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Chartered status with ICE is desirable).
- Proven experience mentoring and managing junior team members.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
